We believe that education is a process of continual growth.
It is our school's vision to teach as Jesus did,
to develop each child's abilities and talents
to his/her optimum levels regarding spiritual, moral, intellectual,
physical, and social growth. We encourage our students
to live a life of Christian witness and community service
based on the ministry of Jesus. The Eucharistic celebration,
The classroom setting, and the extracurricular activities
are all instruments for teaching this philosophy.

What We Can Do To Help Our Children Learn
by Web Admin - Saturday, 20 October 2007, 11:18 AM
Throw a stone into a pool and the circles widen and overlap. None of us lives in isolation. The circles of home, community, and school overlap also. For our children to learn and thrive, they need the support and encouragement of all of the circles in which we live. But the circle in the center is the home and that's where it all starts.

What We Can Do To Help Our Children Learn

  • Listen to them and pay attention to their problems. Read with them.
  • Tell family stories.
  • Limit their television watching.
  • Have books and other reading materials in the house.
  • Look up words in the dictionary with them.
  • Encourage them to use an encyclopedia.
  • Share favorite poems and songs with them.
  • Take them to the library--get them their own library cards.
  • Take them to museums and historical sites, when possible.
  • Discuss the daily news with them.
  • Go exploring with them and learn about plants, animals, and geography.
  • Find a quiet place for them to study
  • Review their homework.
  • Meet with their teachers.

Teacher Web Pages
by Web Admin - Monday, 24 September 2007, 06:00 PM

doorTeacher Web Pages
On the left-hand site of our front page are links to the teacher's web pages. These are small web pages maintained by teachers and administrators. In order to access most of these web pages, you must have an account for our web site. (We know that this extra layer of security is a little inconvenient, but it does help us protect our students from the many bad people who surf the Net.)

Please note that some of our new teachers are still learning how to build their web pages, so please be patient with them.

How do I gain access to a course?
Locate or search for the desired course and click on the course name. When prompted, click Enroll me in this course. Once you are enrolled in a course, it will appear under "My courses" any time that your are logged into the Victory school site. Once signed on to the school site - if there is another web page that you would like to see (Library, PTO) click on all courses, this will take you to a list of all the web pages available.

If you are having any trouble logging in or getting to a web page please contact me webmaster@olv.org
